I'm looking forward to an exciting new year with you! Stop by to say hello and tell me about your summer, and hopefully what you've read.

When can you start using the library?
We will be open for student use  begin checking out books on Monday, 8/18. You must have a student ID (any year, any school).

What's going on in there?
Interested in Battle of the Books? Our first meeting will be in the LMC during lunch on Wednesday, 8/20 and Thursday, 9/4. Come on by to learn all about this exciting group.

What should I read?
We have a lot of new books, and hundreds on the way. Try this new smartphone app to get book recommendations or our school library search app to see what we have on the shelves.

Battle of the Books 2015-2015 Reading List

Teams must consist of 4-6 people and may be mixed grade levels.
Each book should be read by at least two people on each team.
The first meeting will be in the library the first week of September.

Destiny Quest App

Using Destiny has never been easier....
Search for Destiny Quest  photo.png
Once you download the app (via the app store (iphone) or Google play (android) do the following:
  • Find our library catalog by first typing in  http://lausd.follettdestiny.com
  • Select our school - Millikan Middle School
  • Enter your lausd email address (ALL of it, including the @mymail.lausd.net) as your userneame
    • Your password is your student ID number OR log in as a guest 
Need websites? Search for your topic in the Quest app, then touch WEBPATH EXPRESS to find trustworthy websites.

Home Access to Gale Databases

Now you can access the excellent Gale databases 24/7 on your smartphone or tablet.  Here are the key words and phrases you need to know:

  • Search the app store: Gale Cengage
    • (you want the green icon that says access my library school edition)
    • password: lausdnet
  • First time using the service:
    • click: access library, update resources, access library, then gale databases
  • Every time after the first time:
    • click: access library, then gale databases - for every time after
  • Explore! There is a plethora of outstanding information!
